Edmonton, AB – Rohit Group of Companies takes great pride in their support of numerous charities in Canada, and their most recent $10,000 donation to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit at the Glenrose Foundation here in Edmonton is no less worthy of celebration. This gift will go to supporting the creation of a family meeting room, and will also support the hospital’s Artist-in-Residence program through an annual $5,000 donation.
The Artist-in-Residence program is a very exciting and beneficial program, in that an artist works alongside patients to create art that is later featured as a permanent addition to the unit. This program actively engages the young patients in artistic design, encourages creative expression, and provides an emotional outlet through painting and collage-making.
Rohit Group of Companies’ generous donation will also provide the unit with a new Family Meeting Room. Currently, the furniture in the dated room is held together with duct tape, but with Rohit’s donation, the Glenrose Foundation will be able to paint and decorate the room, and purchase new furniture so that the youth in the unit can have a comfortable room to meet with their loved ones, relatives, and care providers.
The program in which patients experience such benefits as relief from anxiety, distance from pain, respite from boredom, and extended contact with hospital staff is one that Rohit is very honoured to support.
