I’ve traveled to “the Mac” several times and always found it to be a pleasant experience. Let’s give some credit to the boom town that deserves it.

Contrary to popular belief Fort McMurray has become a great place to raise a family and call home. I am by no means trying to glamourize it by saying it never has line-ups or that it doesn’t see the giant monster truck parked out in the driveway but there are numerous charming and enjoyable features that make this city tick. It all depends what you are looking for but all I’m asking is that you don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it. You might just be unexpectedly surprised.
