Emergency warranty services
Some issues can’t wait. If you're facing an emergency—such as a plumbing leak, heating failure, or electrical outage—refer to our emergency contact list for immediate assistance and first steps to take.
Electrical emergencies
No power to the whole house – You have no power; however, the neighbours and street lights work. A call of no power to the whole house shall always be considered an emergency call-out, but may not require a trip out initially. Call the electrician on your emergency sticker.
Where there is an area outage:
- In Alberta, this is an EPCOR issue. Please check the status on their website here
- In Saskatchewan, call SaskPower service at 1-888-355-5589
Heating emergencies
Loss of heat – Where there is a complete loss of heat. This is commonly caused by a maintenance item. Please check the following items prior to making an emergency call.
- Check the breaker and confirm the furnace has power.
- Reset the furnace by using the power switch (close to or on the ceiling by the furnace) to turn the furnace off for 1 minute, then turn it back on.
- Check that the thermostat has power and is set to the heat setting.
- Check the furnace filter and change it if dirty.
- If the furnace has a pilot light, check to make sure it is lit.
- Ensure your exterior venting is free and clear of any debris or ice buildup.
If none of these resolve the issue, call the heating company on your emergency sticker.
Plumbing emergencies
Uncontrollable water leak – Should you have an uncontrollable water leak, where it is not coming from a sink or toilet, and you cannot determine the source. First, turn off the main water shut-off located in your basement. Call the plumber on your emergency sticker.
If you are experiencing isolated leaks at a sink or toilet, turn off the respective fixture’s valve and email the Rohit Warranty Team. We will address this as soon as we can; however, this is not considered an emergency.
Gas emergencies
Smell of gas – Should you think you smell gas:
- In Alberta, call ATCO or 911 immediately.
- In Saskatchewan, call the SaskEnergy 24-hour Emergency & Safety line at 1-888-700-0427 immediately.

Laminate floor care
Cleaning
- For everyday cleaning, simply vacuum your floor with the floor attachment to remove loose dirt and debris.
- Light dusting can be completed with a Swiffer-type dusting system.
- Mop occasionally using laminate flooring spray cleaner and a terry cloth mop as required.
- Spray cleaner onto the mop and mop the floor. Never saturate your floor.
- Do not use a mop and bucket or a steam cleaner to clean your laminate floor.
- Dry wipe immediately following cleaning to prevent streaking. Similar techniques for window cleaning apply to your floor.
- Wipe spills away with a cloth as soon as possible.
- For difficult stains caused by ink, paint, etc., a cloth moistened with acetone (nail polish remover) or a household solvent is usually all that’s needed. You may want to test an out-of-the-way area first to make sure the product you are using will not damage the surface.
- To remove chewing gum, tar, etc., let the spot harden completely, then gently scrape away with a plastic scraper.
Ambient condition
The required temperature of 65-80 °F (18-27 °C) and relative humidity level of 25-30 % must be maintained year-round, wherever a laminate floor is installed. Consistent ambient conditions can be maintained with proper ventilation, humidifying in dry seasons, dehumidifying in wet seasons, heating, and constant monitoring.
Protection
Even though laminate floors are designed to withstand moderate to heavy residential traffic and light commercial traffic, it is still recommended to use mats at entrances to keep dirt and moisture from being tracked inside. Use non-staining floor protectors, such as felt pads, under all furnishings. We recommend replacing plastic casters with wide rubber or soft polyurethane casters. Frequently check and replace any damaged protector/caster so it does not scratch/mark the floor.
Ceramic tile floors & walls
Cleaning
For everyday cleaning, simply vacuum with the floor attachment or sweep your floor to remove loose dirt and debris. Mop occasionally using clean water and minimal cleaning solution (never use cleaners that leave any sort of residue) as required. For heavily soiled floors, be sure to change the water frequently; dirty water can be absorbed into grout and cause discoloration.

Luxury vinyl flooring
Cleaning
Caring for your vinyl floor has never been easier. Luxury vinyl is a “minimal maintenance” floor. Routine vacuuming, sweeping, and/or dust mopping is usually sufficient to keep the floor clean.
Though luxury vinyl floors are not susceptible to moisture damage, excessive moisture in the subfloor can encourage mould and mildew growth. Therefore, we recommend cleaning up spills immediately and damp-mopping the floor periodically using appropriate cleaners.

Protection
Even though vinyl floors are designed to withstand moderate to heavy residential traffic and light commercial traffic, it is still recommended to use mats at entrances to keep dirt and moisture from being tracked inside. Use weight-bearing, non-staining floor protectors, such as felt pads, under all furnishings. We recommend replacing plastic casters with wide rubber or soft polyurethane casters. Frequently check and replace any damaged protector/caster so it does not scratch/mark the floor.
Pets’ nails should be trimmed and cleaned on a regular basis, to prevent them from marking the floor. Vinyl products are fade resistant, but gradual colour changes should still be expected. Prolonged, constant exposure to direct sunlight or intense lighting can cause vinyl floors to change colour too quickly. Moving area rugs and furniture occasionally will help ensure a more uniform colour change.

Paint care
General tips for washing painted walls
- Not all paints can be cleaned the same way.
- Flat paints (the dull, non-shiny kind) are the most delicate and can get shiny spots (“burnishing”) when scrubbed.
- Burnishing means the paint gets shiny where it’s been rubbed — it’s permanent and can only be fixed by repainting.
- Shiny paints (like semi-gloss) are tougher and don’t get shiny patches as easily.
Avoid these with latex paint (common water-based paint)
- Don’t use strong chemical cleaners, as they can damage it.
- Avoid any cleaner that’s gritty or has powder or cream texture.
- Don’t wash latex paint for the first 30 days after painting; it’s still curing and can get damaged easily.
How to wash painted surfaces
- Use a soft sponge, not rough rags or cloths.
- Rough materials can scratch the paint and rub it off.
- Don’t scrub in circles; this puts too much pressure on one spot.
- Wipe side to side or up and down, gently.
- Always use a little soap with water; it helps lift dirt and protects the paint.
- Never wash with water only, especially for flat or low-shine paints, as it can cause shiny spots.
How to clean different types of paint:
Low-gloss latex (your wall paint)
- These are more washable but can still get shiny spots if scrubbed too hard.
- Use soap and water with a soft sponge.
- Wipe gently, side-to-side or up-and-down.
- Keep the surface wet while cleaning. Don’t let it dry halfway through.
- Rinse gently with clean water.
Semi-gloss paint (shiny finish on your doors and finishing trim)
- Very durable and easy to clean.
- You can clean it more thoroughly without much risk.
- Still follow good cleaning habits, but you don’t need to be as careful.
